Remember the prototype Z? This was back in 2001, NISSAN said the Z would come with LED tail lights. Did it? No, it didn't. The 03-05 tail lamps look nice, but they don't perform well at all. If you were on the forums back then, you would always read about 350Zs getting rear-ended. I personally believe that the stock 03-05 taillights are under-sized and under-illuminated. They look nice though, and we upgraded many 03-05 taillamps to full LED. A few years passed and the 06-08 taillamps came out. NISSAN decided to bling these up by chroming the lamp's interior. As the saying goes, nothing exceeds like excess - the J-spec lamps came in full clear. Not my style, but thats just me. The factory 06-08 lamp design is fairly simple, each tail light uses a whopping 20 LEDs in total for parking & brake functionality. Visibility is better than the 03-05 lamps, but the Lite-Brite look is a bit plain and over-used. It's an economical to manufacture but nothing unique, unlike some of the stunning BMW tail lamps. The biggest downside is that the factory lamps have a very narrow viewing angle and are only visible when viewing them head-on. Our triple-stack tail light conversion adds an additional 110 LEDs per lamp! This upgrade seriously increases visibility from all angles and adds great styling to the the 350Z tail lamps. The side-strips illuminate at two intensity levels: low-intensity with the parking lamps - full-intensity with the brake lamps. Our triple-stack tail light modification looks like it should have come that way from the factory. Even better, they're reliable - just like a factory product should be. Illumination Photos:
